May 2017

Althea Wheeling and Joanne Cardy will be recognized for going above and beyond in professional development to bring resources to Valley Grove Elementary School via instructional coaching.

Benjamin Barrett will be recognized for his technology promotion in the educational system.

Bridget Kennedy will be recognized for receiving fully funded tuition for the Appalachian Regional Commission/Oak Ridge National Laboratory 2017 Summer High School Math/Science Institute Professional Development program.

John Heckathorne will be recognized for receiving fully funded tuition to attend the Western Pennsylvania Writing Project’s 2017 Summer Institute for Teachers.

Roberta Mays will be recognized for her participation in the Code.org year-long workshop.

Aaron Weltner, Kade Porterfield and Hagan Cook will be recognized for winning the 1st place team award at the Venango County Regional Teen Driving Competition.

April 2017

Monique Vincent, a 4th grade student at Valley Grove Elementary School, will be recognized for advancing to
the Elks Hoop Shoot National Finals in Chicago, IL as one of the nation’s best free throw shooters ages 8-13.

Cael Dailey, a 5th grade student at Valley Grove Elementary School, will be recognized for qualifying to the
Pennsylvania state wrestling championship for a third consecutive year.

March 2017

Morgan Vincent and Sarah Shook were recognized for earning achievement scores within the top five on their senior projects for the senior class.

Kyel Harry, a 4th grade student at Valley Grove Elementary School, was recognized for his achievements at the Pinewood Derby.

February 2017

Members of the Rocky Grove Senior High Academic Challenge team – Josiah Montgomery, Cole Peterson, Brady Wilson, Nick Swatzler and Gabriel Bingman were recognized for their first place win at the Riverview IU#6 Academic Bowl, which qualified their team to the Pennsylvania State Academic Competition.

January 2017

Izabella Friel and Josie Seely, fifth grade students at Valley Grove Elementary School, were presented certificates from the board in recognition of their achievements in leadership and community service.
